Vladimir Chaves dos Santos

Permanent professor

Associate Professor at the Department of Philosophy from the State University of Maringá - UEM. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy (1998), a Master’s degree in Philosophy (2002), and a PhD in Philosophy (2009) from the State University of Campinas - Unicamp. He did postdoctoral studies at the Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II (2015). His area of expertise is the History of Philosophy, working mainly on the following topics: the philosophy of Giambattista Vico, rhetorical tradition, the philosophy of Francis Bacon, philosophical themes from Antiquity (mainly about Plato’s work). He is currently involved with the translation of Vico's Latin work.
